Comedy Central UK has announced that its brand-new short form series “East Mode with Nigel Ng” will launch on Friday 4th February.
East Mode with Nigel Ng will follow comedians Nigel Ng and his ‘Rice To Meet You’ comedy podcast co-host Evelyn Mok, as they write and perform in this mischievous new sketch show, delivering a playful and utterly unique lens in to the world right now. Meet a mismatched heist crew, obsessive parents, an intrusive A.I, all with a relatable dash of diaspora across the series.
The eight-part series will launch weekly from Friday 4th February on Comedy Central’s Digital platforms, including Comedy Central UK’s YouTube channel and Facebook Watch, before a linear broadcast later this year, with the date to be confirmed.
Nigel Ng said: "This is all very exciting. I couldn't see my family over Lunar New Year but this is so good it almost makes up for it."
Other supporting talent throughout the series include Mei Mac (Call The Midwife), Grace Fan (Stella) and Nicky Cheung (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), as well as Andrea Valls, Ed Jones, Martin Sarreal, Jacqueline Tate and David Kirkbride.
East Mode with Nigel Ng is co-created and written by Nigel Ng and Evelyn Mok and executively produced by Rebecca Hewett and produced by Mary Rose for Viacom International Studios.
