Apple TV's football comedy Ted Lasso has received 20 award nominations in the TV Emmys, it has been announced. The only programme to receive more is Succession, which has received 25 nominations.

Ted Lasso's Jason Sudeikis, who won Best Comedy Actor in 2021, is nominated in the same category. The feelgood comedy is also nominated in the prestigious Outstanding Comedy Series category, which it won last year. British Ted Lasso stars Brett Goldstein, Nick Mohammed and Toheeb Jimoh are all nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series category.

Bill Hader is up for an award for his performance in Barry, as are Only Murders In The Building stars Steve Martin and Martin Short.

Hacks star Jean Smart is nominated for Best Comedy Actress.

The winners will be announced on Monday, 12 September.
