The first-ever Yorkshire Comedy Awards took place on Sunday night. The event was held at Mill Valley Brewery, Cleckheaton.

 

Nominations were taken initially via the Yorkshire Comedy Forum, the top nominees were then voted for online via an online multiple choice survey open to comedy industry. There were over 500 votes.

 

The results were as follows: 

 

Best Breakthrough Act - Jonny Brook

Best Alternative Act - Lois Mills

Best Open Mic - Verve Leeds

Best Comedy Club - Comedy Lounge Hull

Best Independent Gig - Picture House, Sheffield

Best MC - Sam Harland

Best Radio/TV Act - Jon Richardson 

Best Promoter - Toby Jones & Daniel Innes/Oli Clarke joint

Best Act - Nina Gilligan (pictured)

Legend Award - Silky

Lifetime Achievement Award - Mark Wilson for services to comedy and fundraising for Parkinsons UK.
