Baby Cow Productions, the multi award-winning scripted production company, have today released a new online short film, ‘Frank’. Starring Freddie Meredith, Juliet Cowan, Lois Chimimba and Alan Williams.
Written and directed by Freddie Meredith (Big Boys, Chivalry), who stars in the titular role as young aspiring comic, Frank travels to a talent agency to have a meeting with one of their top clients, his favourite comedian (Alan Williams, Chernobyl). However all is not quite as it seems when Alan’s agent (Juliet Cowan, Back To Life) and agency staffer Alex (Lois Chimimba, The One) struggle to find any record of the meeting itself.
Frank is the latest in Baby Cow’s original digital content offering, available exclusively on YouTube for their growing online audiences that are engaging with new comedy alongside much-loved Baby Cow favourites, from Alan Partridge to The Mighty Boosh.
The new short film is part of Baby Cow’s ongoing commitment to investing in breakthrough talent and showcasing the next wave of British comedy stars.
Rupert Majendie, Head of Development at Baby Cow and Exec Producer on Frank, said: “Freddie is a super exciting talent that we are very lucky to be working with. He’s a complete original and makes me howl with laughter”.
The short film is the first installment of a new digital development initiative expected to launch later this year with BBC Studios. Investment in ‘Baby Shorts’ forms part of Baby Cow’s overall digital strategy to develop new comedy formats and spotlight breakthrough talent, with several new digital shorts set to be released later this year.
Frank is written and directed by Freddie Meredith and Executive Produced by Rupert Majendie, Head of Development at Baby Cow. The producer is Mary O’Connell and the Director of Photography is Jamie Cairney.
