Urbain, Florence Mendez, Jason Brokerss
Urbain (yes, that’s his real name) began his career in 2013 as an author, actor, director, and face of the site Topito.com with 10 million visitors each month. With Topito, over 300 videos were produced with nearly 800 million views (and still counting) on Youtube, Facebook, Instagram and today TikTok.
In 2014, he launched the now famous “Topito Comedy Night”, a weekly stand-up set that he continues to host today, a set that has hosted the biggest names in French-speaking stand-up including Blanche Gardin, Paul Mirabel, Haroun, Gad Elmaleh and Jason Brokerss.
In 2019 he made his first solo appearance at the Montreux Comedy Festival, with the sketch “I don’t like the internet anymore”, then a second time in 2021 with the sketch “Mes excuses aux vegans” which has accumulated more than 5 million views on social networks.
Urbain comes to Stand Up Londres on the back of his hit run of Saison 1 at the Point Virgule in Paris.
Florence Mendez
An English and Dutch teacher by training, she taught for a while before getting into comedy and being hired by Dan Gagnon for “The Dan Late Show” in early 2016. In March of the same year, she began performing at Kings Of Comedy Club in Ixelles, opening for the likes of Guillermo Guiz and Laurence Bibot.
Her career has since taken her to some of the most prestigious stages and festivals, including the Montreux Comedy Festival and the Festival du Rire de Charleroi, where she won the Jury Price.
Her show “Délicate” has continued to be a great success and attracted the attention of numerous broadcasters and radio stations. Notably she was part of “Piquantes!” on TEVA and in 2021 she joined the “Bande Original” on France Inter.
“We don’t tell stupid people enough that they are stupid”, Florence Mendez would tell you.
Following his time at business school and a food lab sales representative, Jason debuted in comedy in 2013, before winning the 2014/2015 season of the Jamel Comedy Club.
It was here that he was spotted by the troupe’s founder Jamel Debbouze and was offered the opportunity to follow him on tour. Writing and performing alongside some of the most celebrated Francophone comedians pushed him to create his first show “Je Sais Ce Que Je’Fais” in 2017.
Since then, Jason has gone from strength to strength, including participating in the Montreux Comedy Festival and Marrakech du Rire with videos amassing tens of millions of views on YouTube.
In 2018, he was chosen by Netflix to represent French stand-up in their series “Comedians of the World”, a diverse set of 47 comedians from 13 regions bringing their perspective on what’s funny around the world.
Jason comes to Stand Up Londres fresh from a Parisian run of his new show “21ème Seconde”.
