After his upcoming sell-out two weeks at Soho Theatre, character comedian, actor and writer Colin Hoult’ brings his Dave’s Edinburgh Comedy award nominated show The Death of Anna Mann to London’s Fortune Theatre for one night only on November 27. Colin’s eccentric, witty, and wonderful alter ego Anna Mann - actress, singer, welder (gotta have a backup) and siren of the stage and screen - has had a phenomenal swansong this year, with an incredible sell-out Edinburgh Festival Fringe run, sell out tour, and a previous announcement of additional dates around the UK. And now Colin and Anna have added this extra show in the West End for all those that have missed out on the Soho Theatre tickets.
Five incredibly long years since her last tour, Anna Mann has returned to enchant us with the tales, tribulations, and an epic saga of her fabulous life in the arts, as she faces… her final moments. She’s tackled Depression, the far Right and now she battles the greatest enemy of the all: Death itself! As the title suggests, this will quite literally be Colin’s final Anna Mann show as he puts this character to rest. “Don’t you dare cry or I will!” – Anna Mann.
Colin says “It’s all been rather wonderful taking the show on tour. Anna’s dragged me across the country making me perform my heart out. This absurd creation has helped me so much over the years and it’s been the most beautiful thing to see her brighten up others’ lives all across the UK. This show has changed a lot as it’s developed and through my own personal experiences of grief and how we learn to deal with it - I often thought of scrapping it and I’m so glad I didn’t. Now Anna is finally making it to the West End - a huge honour for us both! What a night it’ll be!”1
Anna Mann is the much beloved and beautifully absurd creation of one of the greatest British character comedians, Colin Hoult, whose work is wonderfully crafted, satirical, and refreshing. She’s appeared on The Russell Howard Hour, Harry Hill’s ClubNite and two of her own shows Romesh Presents: Inside your Ancestors and Anna Mann’s Valentine (both for Sky).
Hoult presents a hilarious meditation on life, death and literally everything in between, as Anna would describe it “it will be visceral, real, and achingly brave”. You will leave screaming “f*** off I love it!”.
