Cracking comedy line-up for this week's editions of Richard Osman's House of Games. Comics Cally Beaton and Justin Moorhouse join Louis Emerick and Helen George to see who can win Osman's precious daily prizes and become champion on Friday.
Cally Beaton is a bit of a rising star on the comedy circuit, flying the flag for the slightly older female comedian. She has recently started to appear on panel shows and has just been announced as one of the guests on the next series of Live at the Apollo so she is definitely a name to watch.
Justin Moorhouse is one of the most dependable stand-ups in the UK. He is currently on tour with his latest show Stretch and Think. Expect jokes about middle age, yoga, getting, Madonna, shoplifters and Labradoodles, running, hating football fans but loving football, not drinking, funerals, is Tapas a rip off?, Captain Tom, Droylsden, the environment, self-improvement, ruining a sexual position, electric car charging spots used by doggers, nursery graduation, horses, Stig look-a-likes, home cooked food in places that aren’t your own home, the odd advantages of fundamental religions, the gym, shop door etiquette. His TV and film credits include tiger-faced Young Kenny In Phoenix Nights, Ken Loach’s Looking for Eric, Live At The Apollo, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow ,8 out of 10 Cats and Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled. And if you are looking for form that might point to a House of Games victory, he won Celebrity Mastermind. Although he was less successful on Celebrity Eggheads and Pointless Celebrities (twice).
Everyone who has ever watched telelvsion should recognise Louis Emerick. He has pretty much been on every programme every made since 1985 and is best known for his portrayal of Mick Johnson in the soap Brookside. He also played PC Walsh in 55 episodes of Last of the Summer Wine. Emerick was cast in four episodes of Casualty as Mike Bateman. He has also had roles in New Tricks, The Bill, Benidorm Waterloo Road, Cold Feet and Coronation Street. He has appeared in films such as Layer Cake. He came third in the 2008 series of Celebrity Master Chef.
He was also in Doctors. The Full Monty, Zapped and Coronation Street.
Helen George is best known for Call The Midwife and Strictly Come Dancing.
