Peter Kay kickstarted his monthly residency at The O2 this weekend, with his first of 29 shows at the 02 Arena in London on Friday 16 December. To mark this monumental milestone, Peter was presented with an award from the venue live on stage during his first show.
Peter is the first artist ever to hold a monthly residency at The O2 and will be performing a show at the venue every month until April 2025. By the end of his run in 2025, Peter will have broken the record for the most shows played at The O2 arena by an artist, with an impressive 44 shows at the venue to his name, surpassing previous record-holders Take That who have performed 34 shows.
Peter Kay said: “What an absolute honour to play the world famous The O2 – London, let alone a monthly residency. A truly incredible response. Here’s to many joyful nights in the years to come.”
Emma Bownes, VP of Venue Programming (Europe) at The O2 said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Peter Kay back to The O2, this month and every month until April 2025. Being the first artist in the world to have a monthly residency at the venue, and to sell out every show is an astonishing achievement, and something we’re really proud to have worked on with Peter and SJM Concerts. The first show was incredible and had every audience member in stitches, and we can’t wait for many more nights of laughter to come with Peter Kay at The O2.”
Peter last performed at The O2 as part of his 2010 tour, which still officially ranks with the Guinness Book of World Records as the biggest selling comedy tour of all time. For details of Peter’s upcoming shows at The O2 and for ticket information, click here.
