Kit Hesketh-Harvey Dies

Kit Hesketh-Harvey has died. He was 65.

In a varied career Hesketh-Harvey was probably best known for his work as half of musical comedy duo Kit and the Widow with pianist Richard Sisson, a fellow member of Cambridge Footlights.

Kit and the Widow headlined numerous comedy shows during their three decade career and also supported Joan Rivers when she performed in the UK. Among numerous other career highlights he wrote for Rowan Atkinson and worked on The Vicar of Dibley and teamed up with musician James McConnel in Kit and McConnel.

“We are devastated to learn today of the death of long-term PBJ Management friend and client Kit Hesketh-Harvey,” his agent said in a statement to The Independent. “Kit died unexpectedly but peacefully, listening to Radio 3 and preparing for a Kit & McConnel show.”

“A client for over three decades, Kit was a uniquely talented and erudite performer, writer, composer, wit, singer, actor, all round entertainer and above all devoted father. [Agency co-founder Peter Bennett-Jones] originally knew kind, clever Kit at university and toured the UK and US with him in The Comedy of Errors in 1978,” a representative at his agency said.

An official cause of death has not been reported but it has been said that he died suddenly
