Comedian Michelle de Swarte is one of the guests on Sunday Brunch this week alongside Joe Cornish, Iain Stirling and Tracy-Ann Oberman.
De Swarte (pictured), who you may have seen recently on Live at the Apollo and in the Sky horror-comedy The Baby, is about to head out on her first stand-up tour. She certainly has plenty to talk about onstage. Before becoming a stand-up she was a top model living in New York after being spotted while working in a bar in Clapham in south London. While in America she lived a glamorous life and even encountered Jeffrey Epstein at his Manhattan townhouse shortly after 9/11. In her time she has also been homeless and a cat-sitter.

In a recent interview she explained where the title of her show came from: "'I moved to New York when I was 20 years old and became a model, made loads of money and lived a crazy life. I moved back to the UK at 38 and by the time I got my arse back to London all I owned was in two suitcases. I had no other choice but to start from the absolute beginning. So this show is a funny look at when your ego is inflated and somehow you manage to napalm your life."
Joe Cornish is now an established filmmaker. His breakthrough was Attack The block and he now has a new series on netflix, Lockwood & Co. Older comedy fans however will remember him for his work with Adam & Joe on Channel 4 and their radio show on BBC Radio 6. He still hooks up with Buxton for the latter's podcast at Christmas.
Iain Stirling is a stand-up comedian who is also the narrator of Love Island. He is married to Laura Whitmore and he co-created and co-stars in the ITV2 sitcom Buffering about a group of house-sharers who are caught in that late twenties limbo when they aren't children any more but not quite adults eiher. Laura Whitmore also appears in the new series on Monday nights on ITV2.
