PICO, a leading VR company with independent innovation and R&D capabilities, has joined forces with The Comedy Store to broadcast a series of shows, live across parts of Europe, in virtual reality.
The first episode, set to be streamed this Friday, will be hosted by Mark Watson. Owners of PICO 4 and PICO Neo 3 Link headsets will be able to laugh along at home as he is joined on by comedy king Russell Kane, award-winning stand-up Kiri Pritchard-McLean and Joshua Bethania.
Viewers will feel like they are immersed in the show, positioned with an unrivalled view and connection with the comedians. Viewers can also interact back, using the emoji buttons at different points during the show. The 3D show will provide a 360-degree view in unrivalled 8K quality – capturing the authentic and hilarious atmosphere at the Comedy Store in a never-before-seen way.
Iain Funnell and Yiyun Tang, Producers at PICO say, “We’re so excited to be partnering with The Comedy Store to bring these series of hilarious shows exclusively to our users. We’re looking at lots of different ways we can expand our ever-growing content offering, and this is just one in series of live experiences we have lined up for this year.”
PICO’s Stand-Up at the Comedy Store will be available to stream from Friday, 24th February at 7:00pm GMT. Each episode is 40 minutes long. Those with PICO 4 and PICO 3 Neo Link headsets will be able to access the shows for about two weeks after the launch date. Episodes will also be available to stream at selected times after the live events.
Comedy fans who don’t own a PICO headset can also apply to be part of the audience via SRO Audiences, at the Comedy Store as it is being filmed.
Earlier this year, PICO offered customers the chance to rave along at home to an exclusive performance by Calvin Harris in an interactive immersive digital arena. It is also currently hosting Megan Thee Stallion’s first ever virtual reality concert – Enter Thee Hottieverse – via the PICO store.
PICO headsets are available to buy in the UK from a wide range of retailers including Argos, John Lewis, Amazon, Curry’s and Very.
