The Traitors Australia has been acquired by the BBC. Once again a group of contestants arrive at a historic luxury hotel as Faithful contestants – hoping to share a prize fund worth up to A$250,000. Amongst them are the Traitors – a group of four contestants selected by host Rodger Corser on the first day, whose goal is to eliminate the Faithful’s and claim the prize for themselves.
For those who are new to The Traitors, it is a psychological reality game show centred around tactics, betrayal, suspicion and manipulation. Should the Faithful contestants eliminate all the Traitors, they will share the prize fund. If a Traitor makes it to the end, they steal the money.
Welcome to a most deliciously, dangerous game of lies, deception and betrayal. Do the Faithfuls have what it takes, to eliminate the Traitors? Or will the skulduggery of the Traitors see the Faithfuls eliminate one of their own?
Nasfim Haque, Head of Content for BBC Three says: “The Traitors is an addictively fiendish format and I am so pleased that viewers can get their summer fix of treachery and suspicion as we head Down Under for the Australian version of the show on BBC Three and iPlayer.”
The Traitors Australia will land as a 12 episode boxset on BBC iPlayer at 6am on Sunday 9th July 2023 and will also be broadcast on BBC Three.
The Traitors Australia is the third version of the series available to BBC viewers, following the double-BAFTA award winning and critically acclaimed first UK series of The Traitors produced by Studio Lambert and hosted by Claudia Winkleman and The Traitors US, both of which are available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
For those that think they have what it takes to play, applications are still open for the second series of the UK version of The Traitors. Visit BBC Shows, Tours & Take Part to find out more.
