Protestors from Just Stop Oil staged an invasion of the set of The Last Leg at the start of this Friday's programme.
Just as the programme began protestors handed out high-vis jackets to Josh Widdicombe, Alex Brooker and Adam Hills before showering them with orange confetti.
As Adam Hills said "this is not part of the show, this is not part of the show" and Alex Brooker jokily carried Josh Widdicombe off viewers were initially confused and wondered if it was all scripted, but Josh Widdicombe in particular seemed shaken and it soon became apparent that it was not planned as part of the broadcast.
Afterwards though Hills seemed happy about it, adding "Can we do that every show?"
Widdicombe said: "Don't do it again I'm shitting myself."
The response on social media was mixed.
@europasaintsfc tweeted: "Is it ok that that #thelastleg just faked a just stop oil protest ? Just stop oil protesting at the last leg is like Keith Floyd protesting at a wine conference You’ve gotta hand it to our anti capitalist/ anarchists , they are far more organised than they’ve ever been
@T0mevans added: "m sat here watching “The Last Leg” with my parents on which there was a just stop oil protest. 10 minutes later the same show is literally making fun of global warming, hail floods in Spain and the hottest days ever on earth. Somethings off with humans."
@justrollinon86 tweeted: "At least it seems the lads at The Last Leg were alright with the pitstop by Just Stop Oil #IsItOk? yeah, disabled people know all about protesting when necessary. So, fair enough"
The organisation had previously disrupted The Proms earlier in the evening which was broadcast on the BBC.
@dalekupris tweeted: "You should be ashamed of yourselves. Ruining people's daily lives. You will not persuade people using these tactics."
@jekenyon tweeted: "@TheLastLeg # is it ok for the Last Leg to respond so badly to the Just Stop Oil Protest ??"
