Transcript

RK: Roman Kemp

SW: Sian Welby

CS: Chris Stark

JD: Joel Dommett

CM: Do you get nervous when you’re hosting?

JD: I do get nervous like anyone would, I just try to really not think about it about it, just think about what I’ve got to do, and what I’ve got to do is read this autocue, no disrespect to real presenters, I know it’s more than that, I just really try to boil it down to that because then it makes me not get overwhelmed by the fact that everyone who’s better at it is looking at me [all laugh]…, it’s just reading and enjoying it, if you’re not enjoying it, it makes the job so much harder.

Also on the show Ricky Gervais fan Joel Dommet says that people assume he will go ‘all Gervais’ whenever he hosts present the NTAs

CM: [The NTAs] It’s a hard gig because it’s never quite Billy Crystal at the Oscars is it?

JD: What’s really difficult is that [I’m] a fan of Radio X, Ricky Gervais, XFM legend, he’s done the Golden Globes in such a way that it’s kind of changed the way that people view award ceremonies and that’s what everyone assumes people are going to do now. When I say I’m going to do the NTA people go, ‘Ohhh, are you gonna go all Ricky Gervais?’, and that is amazing what he does and I think it’s absolutely brilliant but it’s a very different scenario for me.

Talking to Roman Kemp Joel Dommett hilariously detailed wife Hannah’s “liquid gold” morning routine and jokes “I’m milking hers…I really want to taste it” whilst sweetly admits “I have to collect that in the mornings” and says “It’s already changed my life” becoming a dad

RK: We're joined by a man who last time he was on the show milked his own nipple. Who knows what's gonna happen today...

JD: Well, since the last time I saw you, my wife is now heavily pregnant. So I'm now milking hers...

ALL [laugh]

RK: Are you?

JD: Yeah! Well, it's probably something you don't want to go into in the mornings. But, but there's this thing, this amazing thing called colostrum, which is like a thing that happens to women when they're pregnant. And the first milk and they call it liquid gold.

RK: Wow

JD: And it's and it's literally golden. Honestly, and I... me...me, Joel Dommett I have to collect that in the mornings in a little syringe from the nip

CS: Is this a new diet for you or?

JD: Honestly... I just say to her every time like "I really want to taste this". It's very nutritious. And so, I just I do that every morning. I collect it...It's my new favourite thing. I love it!

SW: Being ignorant to this right? What do you then do with it? Is it just being discarded? Or is it being kept?

JD: You put it in the freezer! I've got syringes in my freezer like a scientist!

SW: The baby has it when it's born?

JD: Yes, yeah. Because it's really nutritious. It's like really, really good stuff. And so you like, collected it's called 'harvesting'. And so I love it because every morning I'm like, "ready to harvest wife?" And we harvest. It's changed this whole... I know people say when you have a child, it changes your life. It's already changed my life!

Joel Dommett told Roman Kemp “I don't think I'm going to go” to the NTA’s afterparty as wife Hannah is “heavily pregnant” and jokes “I think I'm gonna have an after party with a sort of a woman that can't move easily” – VIDEO HERE

RK: The NTA's you're back for a third time hosting it, how is it?

JD: It feels absolutely wonderful.

RK: I mean like after party wise... anything that you've got planned?

JD: Well, my wife is so heavily pregnant I don't think I'm gonna go. I think I'm gonna have an after party with a sort of a woman that can't move easily.
