Christmas has officially begun as Richard Osman's House of Games has the first of two weeks of festive specials. At the time of writing we are not quite sure what that means apart from the fact that the prizes with have a yuletide tinge, but this is always great fun to watch any time of the year and comedians almost always do well on it.
The guests this week are Richie Anderson, Simon Gregson, Jessica Knappett and Debbie McGee take on a series of rounds selected by the host, quiz legend Richard Osman.
Jessica Knappett is a veteran pf Taskmaster. she has previously appeared on House of Games before and has also appeared on shows including in The Inbetweeners Movie, Judge Romesh, Meet The Parents, Drunk History, Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, Guessable, Don't Hate The Playaz and Avoidance. She was previously in sketch group Lady Garden with Hannah Dodd, Rose Johnson, Eleanor Thom, Camille Ucan and Beattie Edmondson.
Simon Gregson will be known to soap fans for his role on Coronation Street. He has played Steve McDonald since 1989 and has received 17 awards for comedy and performance, plus a Legends of Industry Award. Debbie McGee was for many years known as the wife of late magician Paul Daniels, though many will know her best for her appearance on the Mrs Merton Show when Caroline Aherne's character asked her, “So what first attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels?”. In 2017 it was voted as the greatest comedy put-down in British TV history.
And the final contestant is Richie Anderson is a BBC presenter who appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2022.
Richard Osman's House of Games, Monday, December 18 - Friday December 22, BBC Two, 7.30pm - but check the times just in case they are different on some nights.
The following week the House of Games festive guests will be Harry Judd, Kerry Godliman, Gbemisola Ikumelo and Hugh Dennis.
