Classic comedy Gavin And Stacey is set to return. Co-creator James Corden has revealed the news that there will be a Christmas Special on BBC One.

In a picture that he has posted on Instagram he has shown himself hiding behind a script with fellow creator Ruth Jones. On the script it says "Gavin And Stacey the finale. Written By James Corden and Ruth Jones. 2024."

Corden wrote: "Some news… It’s official!!! We have finished writing the last ever episode of Gavin and Stacey. See you on Christmas Day, BBC One. Love Ruth and James"

There had previously been stories reporting a possible return but this is the first time the rumours have been definitely confirmed. 

The show was last broadcast as a Christmas Special in 2019 and ended with it looking like marriage was on the cards for Smithy and Nessa, played by Corden and Jones. It was viewed by over 18 million viewers and was one of the Christmas highlights.
