Elizabeth Hurley, Jameela Jamil And Chris Packham Guest On Late Night Lycett

Ultimate Hun Natalie Cassidy has offered to divide Joe Lycett’s blushes and join him on the BAFTA TV Awards red carpet on Sunday, dressed as his Lady-in-Waiting, should his Aunties reach their Instagram target of 250,000 followers by the end of this Friday’s episode of Channel 4’s Late Night Lycett.

Last week, Joe promised to attend the BAFTA TV Awards dressed as Queen Elizabeth I if they reached their target of hitting 100,000 followers on Instagram, which they duly did within days, helped by an outpouring of support from the great British public and with celebrities including Rylan, Katherine Ryan  and Scott Mills endorsing their effort.

Now, with Natalie Cassidy’s promise ringing in their ears, should the Aunties reach 250k Instagram by 11pm on Friday when the Late Night Lycett broadcast finishes, Natalie will accompany Joe on the BAFTA red carpet in her own 16th-century royal-inspired attire, with Series One of the show nominated for two BAFTA TV Awards.

Natalie is part of the Late Night Family, facetiming Joe each week for feature ‘Where is Natalie Cassidy’ and appeared in the last series as she caused a riot in Joe’s local corner shop.

Natalie Cassidy said: “As a regular on ‘Late Night Lycett’, I’m looking forward to hopefully joining Joe and the Late Night Lycett family at the BAFTA’s. I’ll be attending to Joe’s every need, holding his train and looking after him as he becomes Queen for the night. To make this happen, all you need to do is follow ‘Late Night Aunties’ on Instagram”.Joe Lycett said: “Ever since I was a child I always dreamt of going to the BAFTAs dressed as Queen Elizabeth I with Natalie Cassidy as my lady in waiting. Please make my childhood dreams come true.”

Joe’s Elizabeth I BAFTAs outfit is being created by designer Yashana Malhotra and styled by Krishan Parmar.

On creating this iconic look, Malhotra said: “The vision for the dress is to celebrate the joy Joe brings, with a contemporary twist of dressing him as Elizabeth the first.

“Turn around was tight but it forces me to act quickly, the best things come out of that. It becomes reactionary and spontaneous; I have fun working against the clock and the piece becomes full of that thrill and energy.”

And Parmar added: “The idea for Joe's look was to create a real moment. The expectation that he would look silly was laid down, and I wanted to blow everyone away with a look that captured the essence of Queen Elizabeth I but also became an iconic red carpet moment. I was inspired by the scale of some vintage Comme Des Garcons looks along with the theatrics of the recent Maison Margiela Haute Couture show.

“As soon as I saw Yashana's work I knew she would be the perfect designer to collaborate with. Scale and Fantasy are both huge parts of the look - and Yashana manages to create incredible scale in her designs and her creativity knows no bounds. It was a perfect match.”

Joining Joe and his eclectic mix of Birmingham regulars on the show broadcast live this Friday (10pm, Channel 4) is Hollywood actress Elizabeth Hurley, presenter, actress and activist Jameela Jamil and naturalist and broadcaster Chris Packham.
