Falmouth Cringe Programme Announced

The Falmouth Cringe Comedy Festival has unveiled its biggest programme lineup to date, releasing tickets to 40 comedy performances that will take place from 4  - 7 July across seven venues in Falmouth.

Tickets are on sale now for one of the most anticipated comedy events in Cornwall. The Falmouth Cringe, now in its third year, promises a weekend filled with laughter, showcasing a diverse array of comedic styles and voices that are sure to entertain audiences of all ages.

This year, the festival has programmed a diverse mix of events. As well as stand up performances from the likes of Nabil Abdulrashid, Chistopher Hall, Olga Koch (pictured) and Chloe Petts, highlights of the festival include a film screening of Harry Hill's ‘The Last Caveman’ followed by a live Zoom Q+A with Harry; a live podcast recording of GhostHuns - the popular ghost story podcast from comedians Hannah Byczkowski (Winner of The Traitors, 2022) and Suzie Preece (Finalist, Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year) and a Cornish comedy showcase, ‘The Court of Kernow’ hosted by Ed Rowe, otherwise known as The Kernow King.

Families are also well catered for, with two completely free outdoor  performances from local Cornish entertainers Magic Martin and Dangerous Dave on Sunday 7 July at Kimberly Park, as well as an interactive, disabled led game show for all ages by the Blue Badge Bunch on Saturday 6 July.

The festival has also revealed its closing night headliner, none other than Jessica Fostekew. Jessica (regular co-host of The Guilty Feminist podcast and star and writer of BBC Radio 4’s Sturdy Girl Club) will bring her new show Mettle to Solskinn - The Church on Sunday 7th July. Jess’ previous show Hench was nominated for Best Show at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. Most recently her hugely-acclaimed feature film Scrapper won the Grand Jury prize at the Sundance festival.

Commenting, Johanna Tate (Co-Director of The Falmouth Cringe) said: ‘The Falmouth Cringe 2024 is our biggest festival to date. We’ve added 7 more slots and 1 new venue to our festival this year because - as well as bringing top quality comedians across the Tamar to Cornwall, we want to fill a gap for talent to be discovered, nurtured and celebrated here in Cornwall.

‘That’s why we’re programming lots of Cornish acts and events this year including a Cornish comedy showcase hosted by The Kernow King at our new festival venue, Fives Cyderhouse, on Sunday 7 July.’
