London Residency For Romanian Comic Dragos Mostenescu With Special Guests

London Residency for Romanian Comic Dragos Mostenescu

Romanian comedian and actor Dragos Mostenescu will be bringing his new show Dragos & Friends to the Piano in Smithfield for a residency, starting on Thursday 30th May. The show is a blend of musical comedy and stand-up, freestyling from one act to another with the guests stepping out of their comfort zone and do what they don’t normally do. Sometimes musicians dare to tell jokes and comedians attempt to sing and the results can be unexpectedly bonkers or surprising!

Born in Romania during the communist era, Dragos developed a deep appreciation for Western European entertainment, which inspired his journey into the world of comedy and acting. Dragos dedicated his thirties to crafting several successful sitcoms and comedy series for the country’s leading TV networks. His work on ‘The Block of Flats’ earned him acclaim, with the series winning the prestigious Best Sitcom award in 2002 and achieving viewership figures comparable to major sporting events.

In 2017, Dragos embarked on a new chapter of his career by relocating to the UK. to pursue his dream of creating comedy and music for a broader international audience. His stage musical comedy show, All Aboard!’, premiered at the Leicester Square Theatre and enjoyed a run at the Edinburgh Fringe, where it was lauded as a "Highly Recommended show" by The Fringe Review.

Dragos's talent extends beyond comedy, as evidenced by his notable appearances in acclaimed television series such as "THE POWER" on Amazon Prime, and "RAIN DOGS," a BBC/HBO production, in which he brought to life the character of Konstantin, the mischievous owner of a peep show in Soho..

Guided by the philosophy that "Age is just a number, Dragos remains steadfast in his belief that unwavering dedication to one's passions is the true path to success. With his infectious energy, comedic prowess, and boundless creativity he continues to leave an indelible mark on the world of entertainment.
