It had to happen at some point. Bill Bailey has cut the curtain of hair that has become his trademark.
Posting a picture of his new look on Facebook he wrote: "After many, many years of being a barbershy hippy I’ve finally had a haircut . Feels a bit weird , but I’m learning to like it"
Fans and friends were suitably shocked but the new look for the Strictly winner generally received a favourable response. "Jojn the club," wrote Will Preston.
Simon Pugh suggested it might confuse people: "Expect an exponential rise in the number of people coming up to you and saying "you look just like Bill Bailey but without the hair".|
Terri Aldersey praised the shape of Bailey's head: "Never EVER thought you'd have your locks cut, but it looks great! You have a rather nicely shaped noggin'"
Teresa Ansell wrote: "Looks lovely but I admit I miss the "Black Book" days xx
Superfan Gillian Hopkinson was philosophical: "I liked it as it was that's what made you but, I've now got to get used to you with your new look, and realise you are still Bill Bailey and just because you have had a haircut it won't make you any less funny or any less interesting. no hair or hair your personality will always win my vote, you are an amazing person Mr Bailey."
Clive Turner remarked on his resemblance to Phil Collins or maybe Peter Gabriel: "Loved your work with genesis back in the day".
Paul Benford certainly thought he resembled Peter Gabriel: "Can you do Red Rain and Sledgehammer at your next gig plz"
Judy Beyer wrote: "Love your look! And your ears are so clean!!"
To which Bailey himself took the time to reply: "this might be my favourite comment haha!"
