The comedy competition by NextUp (‘the Netflix of UK stand-up’), aptly named ‘The Biggest Award in Comedy’ is returning to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2024.
The award is a massive 2m 2cm high, representing a 1cm increase from 2023’s award.
Lindsey Santoro - the winner of last year’s award said: “It’s an absolute thrill and joy to have won this award. What's not a thrill is the giant bloody trophy, which is so big my mother had to crawl inside it to deflate it and we lost her for 2 months. One of her slippers is still in it. Good luck everyone! Smash its tits off! Bye bye love you.”
The winning comedian will receive a 2 metre 2cm inflatable trophy (literally the biggest award in comedy).
Plus:
-
an air pump
-
a carry case so the lucky winner can proudly display it wherever they go
-
£500
-
The option to have their special recorded for the NextUp Platform
Daniel Berg, co-founder of NextUp says: “This biggest award in comedy is back and more inconveniently large than ever - a full 1cm increase from 2023. The Edinburgh Fringe is a gruelling time for performers so it’s a real honour to increase one lucky comedian’s luggage size for their journey home.”
