David Eagle has received the Outstanding Visually Impaired Award at the Neurodiverse Review Awards today at Just the Tonic Nucleus.
The awards reflect the dedication and exceptional talent of disabled and neurodiverse acts at the Edinburgh Fringe.
David Eagle is a blind comedian and folk singer and a regular on BBC Radio 4's The Now Show.
David says: “So pleased to win the Visually Impaired Excellence Award, which is awarding me for my stand up show, rather than awarding me for being excellent at being visually impaired; although I think I'm pretty excellent at being visually impaired; that just comes naturally.”
Simon Jay, editor of Neurodiverse Review said: “Eagle is an example of a perfect marriage between persona and material, a rare thing in stand-up. He feels like a vaudeville star …. a step away from the big time.”
David Eagle: The Eagle Is Candid , Just The Tonic at Cabaret Voltaire now-25 AUG 21:30. Tickets here.
