US Jewish Comedian Modi Adds Second Palladium Date

Jewish Comedian Modi Adds Second :Palladium Date

US-based Israeli comedian Modi has announced a second London show at the London Palladium after his first show on Wednesday 6th November sold out. The extra show is on Thursday 27th February 2025. Ticket link below.

In his latest show he explores what it means to be Jewish today. It also allows him to weave a complex identity as both a proud Jew and a gay man - speaking for the first time on stage about his (younger) husband and the perks of being married to a millennial.

Modi navigates niche subjects within the Jewish world without ever leaving non-Jewish viewers behind…explaining, among other things, why Jews have their own ambulance corps, unsurprising 23&Me results, and the prevalence of ‘hidden’ antisemitism. His marriage to his Catholic husband gives him a front-row seat to the cultural differences – and comical contrasts. Ultimately, Modi strives to show that we’re more alike than different, no matter our background.

He also touches on the universal experience of ageing parents, sharing personal and humorous anecdotes about his father’s hearing loss, as well as the challenges that come with caring for elderly loved ones. He also talks about his personal experience of growing old that includes his recent colonoscopy as well as a cosmetic procedure.

Modi, of course, addresses recent events in Israel and the Jewish community worldwide. Through humour, he stresses the importance of peace, unity, and what he fondly calls “Moshiach Energy. His larger-than-life stage presence sends  a message: be true to your audience and the rest will follow.

He says: "I'm beyond excited to be performing at the iconic London Palladium — it's an absolute dream to bring my show to such a legendary stage. The UK has always welcomed me with open arms, and now with a second show added, it's clear how much we all need to laugh together. With everything going on in the world right now - especially given what my predominately Jewish fanbase is experiencing - I feel so lucky to share some joy and humour with the London community.”

Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, Modi emigrated with his family to the United States at the age of seven and was raised on Long Island. After graduating from Boston University, he worked as an investment banker until his first open-mic night made him realize that stand-up was his true calling.

Modi has gone on to become a successful fixture in New York's vibrant comedy scene and was voted one of the top 10 comedians there by The Hollywood Reporter. He is one of the comedy circuit’s most sought after performers and regularly headlines around the U.S. and across the globe.

He played himself on HBO's Crashing and Netflix's When Jews Were Funny. He's also appeared in several feature films and played leading roles in two: Waiting for Woody Allen, which won the LA Film Festival, and Stand Up, a feature-length film. In 2018, Mayor Bill De Blasio declared June 26th 'Mordechi Modi Rosenfeld Day' in the city of New York for his accomplishments and contributions to the artistic community. Modi released his debut special, ‘Know Your Audience’ in March 2024 on Amazon Video & YouTube.
