Greg Davies Reveals He Was Paid £1000 To Play Henry VIII On The Chuckle Brothers Show

Greg Davies has revealed he got paid the sum of £1,000 for his appearance as Henry VIII on The Chuckle Brothers.

He was being interviewed on the Chris Moyles Show on Radio X to promote the new series of Never Mind The Buzzcocks. He and Jamali Maddix were talking to Jordan North and Sian Welby.

His role as Henry VIII was his first ever TV appearance back in 2007.

He was asked: "Do you remember playing Henry VIII?" and replied: "Do I remember playing Henry VIII on the Chuckle Brothers?! I would never forget it in my life. Do you want to know a thing about me being on The Chuckle Brothers that’s so funny? I auditioned to play Henry VIII on The Chuckle Brothers, and in the audition, the director said 'you’re hamming it up a bit, calm it down a bit'. Can you imagine how much I was overacting? A grand by the way, that’s how much I got paid to play Henry VIII. 2007, that’s big money!"
