Comedians Abigoliah Schamaun (ADHD) and Joe Wells (autistic) have signed a book deal to write a collection of funny and relatable autobiographical essays with a neurodivergent theme.
Inspired by their hit podcast of the same name, Neurodivergent Moments refers to the moments in your life which are different, difficult, or more exciting when you have a differently wired brain.
24 stories in the book include the day it dawned on Abigoliah that she was in special education classes (she just thought she was special!) and the complicated new game Joe designed for his classmates at school (they just wanted to play tag). Lighthearted, sincere, and insightful, Neurodivergent Moments is a journey into the diverse world of differently wired brains and the people who own them.
Neurodivergent Moments will be released in paperback in 2026. This will be the duo’s first book together.
“It’s always been a dream of mine to write a book. And it’s an honour to write it with Joe, as he’s already set us a writing schedule so it’ll definitely get done,” says Abigoliah Schamaun
“I am so excited about writing this book, I’ve made an excellent writing schedule,” added Joe Wells.
The podcast first aired in April of 2022, is self produced and hosted by Abigoliah and Joe. Each episode features an interview with another neurodivergent creative and sharing of neurodivergent moments from listeners, guests, Abigoliah and Joe. Previous guests include Angela Barnes, Pete Wharmby, Tom Watts, Sikisa and more.
The Neurodivergent Moments Podcast has been featured at/in Latitude Festival, London Podcast Festival, Oxford Podcast Festival, the Cheerful Earful Podcast Festival, Reader’s Digest and BBC Radio 4 Extra.
