Viewers have been divided over the appearance of comedy wildcard Sam Campbell on Michael McIntyre's The Wheel. 

Australian Campbell is a previous winner of the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show and is known for his zany, unpredictable behaviour. He is currently sporting a moustache. On the show he claimed to be an expert on fruit. 

Posts on X suggested that viewers were split: Gary W posted "I need Sam Campbell on every episode of #thewheel".

Luke wrote: "sam campbell is genuinely the most annoying man tv has ever seen #TheWheel"

Oli from Reading was concerned about the facial hair: "#TheWheel Sam Campbell - nice guy with challenging moustache"

Cowabungaimee was smitten: "i have the fattest crush on sam campbell i acc love him" but had competetion from Olive: "i love sam campbell so much #TheWheel" and Cat: "I fucking LOVE Sam Campbell. Audibly screamed when I saw him #thewheel" among others.

Cuz was hooked: "I was about to do something else with my life but Sam Campbell on #TheWheel is an elite booking."

Michael Kitchener was less impressed: "Who is this Sam Campbell?? Seems like they’ve stuck the cleaner in cos someone didn’t turn up! #TheWheel"

Quinn wrote: "sam campbell is gonna lose someone thousands of ponds tonight i can feel it" and had a point. Campbell blew one contestant's shot at a big win by thinking Angels was a song by Take That.

Adam Townley posted: "Sam Campbell can be a funny chap. But he is absolutely not the right booking for #thewheel"

Melissa Johnson could barely control herself: "SAM CAMPBELL HAS ALWAYS SAID HE WOULD LOVE TO BE ON THE WHEEL WHEEEYYY"

Campbell has previously made a splash on Taskmaster and Richard Osman's House of Games.
