The final instalments of BBC Radio Wales’s hit sitcom, BRAVO TWO CHARLIES will air in a special 90-minute sequence over the Christmas holiday.
The two-part grand finale is broadcast as part of an evening of comedy on Thursday 26 December, with part 1 at 7.30 and part 2 at 8.30. Sandwiched in between is a one-off special, BRAVO TWO CHARLIES – OVER AND OUT, featuring writers Matt Leys and Martin Trenaman along with cast members Sion Pritchard, Laura Dalglish and Sarah Breese, chatting through the highlights and favourite moments from 24 episodes of Bravo Two Charlies. The special round- table show is hosted by north Wales comedian, Tudur Owen.
After 5 years of births, deaths, marriages, divorces, snowstorms, luxury yachts, sour sweets and penguins, Bravo Two Charlies has proved popular with audiences not only in Wales but across the UK, via BBC Sounds.
In the final two episodes, Bravo Charlie unit deal with a massive sinkhole, an out-of-control school bus, a bucket of wet sponges, some dogs called Luna, a few huge surprises for our regular characters and a whole heap of job insecurity.
Writers, Matt Leys and Martin Trenaman said, “Hiya. We’re so delighted that our daft comedy has been so popular that we have a group of experts, and a couple of writers, talking about it for half an hour on Boxing Day. We have had an absolute blast writing five series of Bravo Two Charlies. We would like to thank our amazing cast and all the listeners who made the show such a huge success. Over and out.”
Producer and director Steve Doherty of Giddy Goat Productions added: It’s been such fun bringing this only slightly exaggerated idea of life in north Wales to life over the past 6 years, or so. Matt and Martin have created characters and situations not only funny but relatable and with real heart. We’re grateful to BBC Radio Wales for the support and faith in us they’ve demonstrated in that time.
