Ricky Gervais Sets Comedy Show Record In France

Ricky Gervais has set an attendance record this weekend for the biggest English-speaking comedy show in France.

His show at the Paris Accor Arena on Saturday (8th March), one of a number of massive shows on his current global ‘Mortality’ tour, had a paid attendance of 12,179 people.

Of the new French record, Gervais said: “I still can’t believe I sell out arenas in my own country, let alone around the world. I’m over the moon, as we say in England.”

The show in Paris was one of the first of a string of huge international dates for Gervais throughout 2025, with sell out shows still to come this year in many of Europe’s capital cities; Dublin (Republic of Ireland), Vienna (Austria), Oslo (Norway), Zurich (Switzerland), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Berlin (Germany), Copenhagen (Denmark), Stockholm (Sweden) and Prague (Czech Republic). He will also be heading Stateside, with a return to LA’s Hollywood Bowl, NYC’s Radio City Music Hall, and two arenas in Canada.

On top of some of the biggest arenas across the UK, Gervais will hit London with 14 sold-out nights at the Palladium, and 3 dates at the OVO Arena Wembley (all set to take place in Oct/Nov 2025). List of dates here.

With his his most recent stand-up special 'Armageddon' winning a Golden Globe, hitting Number 1 on Netflix, being nominated for a Grammy and claiming the world record for the highest grossing comedy gig of all time, Gervais’s latest show, ‘Mortality’, will once again be filmed for Netflix.

As Gervais has done with his previous tours, a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to charity - £1.91 million was donated to worldwide animal charities at the end of his Armageddon tour in 2023.
