Desiree Burch returns to the Edinburgh Fringe this August with her brand new show The Golden Wrath which will be followed by a UK tour in the Autumn through to Spring 2026. Tickets for her Edinburgh Fringe run are on sale now at EdFringe.com and tickets for the tour will be on sale from Friday 30th May at 10am and available from desireeburch.com.
Six years after her acclaimed show Desiree’s Coming Early and standout appearances on hit UK comedy shows like Taskmaster and Live at the Apollo, Desiree Burch returns with The Golden Wrath - a bold new show that showcases her signature blend of fearless storytelling and magnetic charisma. The show premiered at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and received rave reviews, including a five-star rating from the Sydney Morning Herald.
Desiree said: “There comes a day when you look around and wonder “is the world a raging bin fire, or is it perimenopause?” The answer, my friend, is “yes”.”
Authentic, curious, and gleefully irascible, storyteller and comedian Desiree Burch leads a madcap voyage through the Middle Ages - AKA the mid-life crisis, and its mandatory metamorphosis – in her new standup hour. Desiree brings both childlike wonder and crone-like wit to the experiences of losing sleep, relevance, knee cartilage, oestrogen, youth, and illusions in a laugh-packed hour that celebrates the fury and freedom found when you’ve accepted that time has ruined your plans, but roll up your sleeves to fight it anyway.
Desiree Burch is a comedian, writer, actor, and voice actor who has firmly established herself as one of the heavy-hitters of the UK comedy scene. Since winning the Funny Women Stage Award and a Fringe First theatre award in 2015, Desiree has gone on to become a regular guest on shows like The Last Leg, Have I Got News For You, and QI, as well as the unmistakable voice and host of Netflix’s smash-hit reality series Too Hot To Handle.
Desiree’s fan favourite status on Series 12 of Taskmaster resulted in a supporting role on Alex Horne’s Channel 4 series, The Horne Section TV Show, which is currently airing its second series. She’s also had roles on Netflix shows like Master of None and The Sandman, as well as the Netflix Original film A Castle for Christmas, with Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes.
Desiree’s live standup has gone from strength to strength. After her debut Edinburgh Festival comedy hour, This Is Evolution was recorded for Live From the BBC (BBC Three), her second hour, Unfuckable was recorded for Soho Theatre Live on Prime Video, and Desiree’s Coming Early was streamed for Soho Theatre On Demand. She has also recorded a separate special for Comedy Central, and shorter sets on The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV), and Backstage with Katherine Ryan (Amazon Prime).
Beyond the screen and stage, Desiree is the voice of Pamela Winchell in the international cult podcast Welcome to Night Vale. She’s also been heard on The News Quiz, The Now Show, Just a Minute and You’re Dead to Me (all BBC Radio 4), and on hit podcasts including The Guilty Feminist, The Adam Buxton Podcast, Off Menu, Pod Save the UK, and My Mate Bought a Toaster.
A founding member of the New York Neo-Futurists, Desiree performed regularly in Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind throughout its 13-year New York run. Dseiree holds a BA in Theatre Studies from Yale University.
