Ross Noble Is Not As Lazy As He Looks In Shark!

Eagle-eyed viewers of SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters on ITV1 might have wondered why Ross Noble never seems to be walking around when he is on the boat.

Noble has revealed why on his social pages: "For those of you wondering why on Shark show on itv I never stand up on the boat and drag myself around. The answer is and it is never mentioned in the show I broke my foot just before we started filming. The doctor signed me off to swim which meant the adventure could continue. The crew were amazing and the care was first class. putting on a wetsuit over a broken foot is not pleasant but there is no way I was going to miss out on what was one of the greatest experiences of my life. You can see all eps on ITVX now."

It's certainly been an eventful experience for the comedian. "Imagine a David Attenborough documentary, right? But Attenborough has got an idiot mate who has just jumped in with the animals, so we can see how big they are and you can learn something about these creatures along the way... Depending on what got caught on the camera, you could see me get nibbled by a shark!"

"I think a lot of people would just instantly think, 'Oh, sharks, danger, big teeth.' I’ve never really had that fear. I watch a lot of telly, so I’ve seen a lot of shark documentaries," he said. "The big thing that I realised is, it’s not Jaws, sharks don’t attack people. The only way a shark has got to find out what another thing is, is to have a little nibble of it and see. I always knew that when they attacked surfers, it’s because they think they’re seals.

"Where my opinion did change was, in nature documentaries, there’s never any scale because they’re just in the vast expanse of blue and usually they’re either on their own or they’re swimming next to other sharks that are a similar size. You’ve got no way of knowing how big they are. The difference is when you’re down there, and there’s people next to a giant shark, that changes everything and makes you realise just how massive they are."

SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters, Mondays at 9pm on ITV1 and on ITVX
