The shortlisted nominees for the 2025 British Podcast Awards have been announced, with broadcaster Emma Barnett joining this year as the Chair of Judges.
Over 200 shortlisted nominees across 26 categories will be competing to take home a coveted trophy at the star-studded awards, taking place on Thursday 2nd October at Indigo at The O2, London. Comedian Maisie Adam will be hosting the ceremony which will bring together the biggest names in podcasting to spotlight the full breadth of talent from across the UK.
In the comedy category the nominees are Elis James and John Robins, Where There’s a Will, There’s a Wake, Sound Heap, The Skewer, This Paranormal Life and Help I Sexted My Boss - Audio Always.
Elis James and John Robins anbd Help I Sexted My Boss are also nominated in the Entertainment category. Ed Gamble’s The Traitors: Uncloaked also earns the BBC an Entertainment nod.
David Tennant is recognised for Best Host(s), while Louis Theroux earns nods for both Best Host(s) and Interview for The Louis Theroux Podcast. Pete Wicks and Sam Thompson’s Staying Relevant is nominated for Video Innovation, as is Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver’s Miss Me?. Angela Hartnett and Nick Grimshaw also land a Best Host(s) nomination.
Vogue Williams and Amber Wilson’s Vogue & Amber competes in Entertainment and Paula Radcliffe’s Marathon Run Club is recognised in Sport.
Voting is now open for the Listeners’ Choice category, the only British Podcast Award decided by the public. Fans can cast their vote at britishpodcastawards.com/voting until 29th August.
