Multi-award-winning comedian, writer and podcaster Rob Auton has announced that his first stand-up comedy special The Time Show will be streamed for 24 hours from 8am on December 28th. What does that mean exactly? Well, the special is itself 57 minutes long so the stream will be the viewer’s chance to join Rob as he introduces and reflects on the show as it is screened 25 times. For a show about time, it’s surely the perfect way to watch it?
The Time Show is a comedy/theatre/spoken word show that received critical acclaim at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe and went on to tour the UK to sell-out crowds. Following on from his much applauded shows about talking, hair, sleep, water, faces, the sky and the colour yellow, Rob turned his attention to time. The show was recorded at the Tom Thumb Theatre in Margate – one of the smallest theatres in the world – in March 2022, is directed by Stuart Laws (James Acaster: Hecklers Welcome, Nish Kumar: Your Power, Your Control) and is produced by Turtle Canyon Comedy and Plosive (Off Menu, Single Ladies in Your Area).
Rob Auton said: ‘I am really pleased to be able to share this film with people in a new way. Getting to work with such a good team on a show I loved performing was a real highlight of my life so far in comedy and performance.’
Stuart Laws said: ‘The special is a beautiful and funny thing by itself, the chance for people to join in on a 24 hour stream of the show adds no poignancy and silliness to the show. There’s not many comedians that combine those two things as well as Rob so this stream should be essential viewing.’

As well as live comedy and spoken word, Rob recently appeared on the latest series of Starstruck (BBC) and has also previously appeared on Miracle Workers (TBS), The End of the F***ing World (Netflix/Channel 4) and The Russell Howard Hour (Sky). His critically-acclaimed podcast, The Rob Auton Daily Podcast, has twice won Gold at the British Podcast Awards.
