Mock The Week Preview

In episode two of brand new Mock The Week, Dara is joined by Rhys James, Ahir Shah, Angela Barnes, Milton Jones, Lou Sanders and Ed Byrne for a satirical romp through some of the week’s biggest headlines. From the latest Mandelson allegations, to Melania’s documentary and the ever-unfolding Mountbatten-Windsor story, it’s a Mock the Week deep dive into the stories everyone’s talking about - and plenty they probably shouldn’t be.

Rhys James on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor: “He needs to get a proper punishment because the last punishment he got.. they just stripped him of his titles… so he’s got no medals any more, he’s got no castle, and he doesn’t get royal security so his punishment for being in the Epstein files is he has to be me...  He is reduced to living my life.’

Angela Barnes adds: “It’s not even that, it's better than your life.  Have you seen the house he is moving into?  The house he is moving into is incredible…  It turns out his rock bottom is my glass ceiling.”

Ed Byrne quips: “Oh the grand old Duke of York, he had ten thousand men..tions in the Epstein files.”

On the Peter Mandelson allegations, Rhys James jokes: “Sometimes in life we are all faced with a huge impossible decision of loyalty.  Who am I loyal to?  An international billionaire paedophile or the Government I currently work for?”  He adds, “The only way it could be more of a betrayal for Britain is if he was caught like secretly murdering Paddington..."

Mock the Week continues Sundays at 9pm on TLC.  It forms part of a bumper TLC schedule which, now available free-to-air in the UK, becomes the destination for big laughs, real emotions and true escapism with its broad entertainment offer.

In next week's show, Dara Ó Briain will be joined by series regular Rhys James, alongside Sara Pascoe, Katherine Ryan, Hugh Dennis, Glenn Moore and Sarah Keyworth.
