Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Joe Kent-Walters’ Channel 4 Playground sketch short ‘Bad Eggs – A Nasty Little Sketch Show’, is now available to watch on Channel 4’s YouTube. ‘Bad Eggs – A Nasty Little Sketch Show’ was commissioned as part of Channel 4’s Playground initiative. It sees Joe return as fan favourite Frankie Monroe and expand his hellish world even further with the help of some new characters Joe has cooked up, including a hapless shopkeeper and a feisty raffle mum. The show was made with Hatrick Productions and directed by Sam O’Leary featuring comedians Molly McGuinnessPaul Campbell and Tom Lawrinson.

The exciting news comes just as Joe has added extra dates to his biggest tour to date. The tour follows Joe’s second Edinburgh Festival Fringe run, marking his second completely sold out month long run with high critical praise. In the run up to the Fringe, Joe was also included in top comedy picks for The TimesThe GuardianTime OutThe I Paper and more.

Joe first introduced audiences to his devilish comedic creation Frankie Monroe (the MC of Rotherham’s working men’s club – The Misty Moon) in his debut show, where we saw Frankie put on a one night extravaganza to keep his club from the clutches of the committee, ultimately losing out and being sucked into hell. In the beloved sequel, ‘Joe Kent-Walters is Frankie Monroe: DEAD!!! (good fun time)’, we saw the return of hell dweller Frankie in his attempt to escape the underworld and save his sacred club from his arch enemy Vegas Dave. For the extra tour dates, fans can expect a show that brings both halves of Frankie’s story together for the full Frankie Monroe experience of chaotically demonic characters, catchy songs and fun tricks.

Joe has also been seen recently on 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4) where viewers saw him join Susie Dent in the dictionary corner. The critically acclaimed comic was also the winner of the BBC New Comedy Award 2023 and winner of the Best Show award at the Leicester Comedy Festival 2024 with this debut hour as well as a past winner of the Chortle Student Comedy Award 2021. This year will also see Joe perform at the prestigious Melbourne International Comedy Festival for the first time and begin a monthly residency in London, at The Bill Murray, and in Manchester, at Fairfield Social Club.
