The plot thickens. Yesterday when I was writing about this week's Claudia Winkleman Show I mentioned that Evita star Rachel Zegler was billed as a guest of both Claudia and Jonathan Ross. Something which is very unusual in the world of chat shows. Here, for example is a listing that says that Rachel Zegler is a Ross guest, alongside Ruth Jones, Ben Platt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kathryn Newton, Alison Hammond and punky pop sensations The Molotovs.

Yet in this preview, published yesterday, the guests are listed as Ruth Jones, Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come co-stars Sarah Michelle Gellar and Kathryn Newton, Richard Ayoade and Alison Hammond. Rachel Zegler sppears to have been replaced by IT Crowd star and all-round deadpan eccentric Ayoade.

I've looked on the ITV press website but couldn't see any confirmation there, so is Rachel Zegler a guest on The Jonathan.Ross Show or has she dropped out/been pulled out/been caught in the crossfire of the current chat show wars?

It's a real challenge getting a good mix of guests and Ross had a really good line-up two weeks ago with Tim Roth, Kurt Russell and Sara Pascoe hitting it off. Ross was off last week due to Oscars duty so let's see how this week's show goes, whether Rachel Zegler is included on not. At least we know Ruth Jones is definitely on, presumably to talk about her current role in The Other Bennett Sister but maybe we will also hear whether Gavin & Stacey will be coming back. That's what everyone will want to know of course. Richard Ayoade is always good value for talk show money and if Alison Hammond doesn't make you smile then check your pulse, you might already be dead.
