BBC One and BBC iPlayer’s Pointless has unveiled a new line-up of celebrity co-hosts who will be joining host Alexander Armstrong on upcoming episodes of the show.

Some of the famous faces set to appear on the show include Susan Wokoma, Gok Wan, Nish Kumar, Lucy Porter, Michael Ball, Ben Miller, Sara Pascoe and Claire Balding.

Alexander Armstrong, Host of Pointless, says: “We are back and I am raring to go alongside a raft of absolutely joyous co-hosts to deliver more random and fascinating facts. I've just got to remind myself which sovereign states are members of the UN in their own right.”

Comedian and actor, Ben Miller, said: “Armstrong and Miller are BACK... on Pointless!!! Xander finally succumbed to my pleading emails and I am so excited. Not only to work with my old mate again but also to dazzle viewers with my extensive general knowledge (discretely delivered to my screen by the show’s producers). I can't wait to get started and Pointless-the-heck out of this.”

Actress and writer, Susan Wokoma, says: “Not being funny but this was the role I was meant to play - sat down, sounding intelligent all whilst basking in the glory of Xander Armstrong? Sign me up! Very, very excited to be keeping warm the Pointless co-pilot seat.”

Michael Ball added: “What a joy to get to sit in the hot seat with the pointless team. I love the show, love Xander, love the fact that this time I’ll know all the answers and I promise to try to not be too judgmental if people say daft things…I’ll try, but I can’t promise anything.”

Comedian and actress, Sara Pascoe, added: “I’m coming to that co-host seat to learn. I’ll swot up all the facts and then next series I’ll enter as a competitor, win the show and steal Xander’s job. It’s a whole game plan.”

Broadcaster Claire Balding said: “I’ve competed on the show many times, and I always walk around asking myself what the pointless answer to any question in life could be. To be sat in the co-host chair where I have all the pointless answers in front of me, is wonderful. It’s such a warm, friendly environment and I’m looking forward to working with the lovely Alexander Armstrong.”

Caroline O’Neill, Commissioning Executive for BBC Daytime comments: “Pointless yet again delivers another great cohort of hosts set to join Alexander as they question another group of contestants searching for the Pointless answer. It’s the hottest seat on the telly and we can’t wait for audiences to enjoy.”

Laura Turner, Executive Producer, Remarkable Entertainment, says: “It's so exciting to see the Pointless family continue to grow with even more marvellous faces gracing the co-host desk. The questions are polled, the contestants are booked and the trophies are gleaming. We can't wait to get filming.”

Pointless broadcasts on BBC One at 5.15pm.
