
Cult hit Late Night with Terry Wogan has won the Komedia Award for Alternative Comedy with the Nest at the Brighton Fringe 2026.
Created by Benjamin Alborough, the show sees a reanimated Terry Wogan interviewing comedians in character as celebrities. The show will be featured as part of Francesca Moody's Shedinburgh at the Edinburgh Fringe this year. As part of the award, the show gets financial support and dates at both the Brighton Komedia and The Nest in Chichester.
The cast for this particular show included Joz Norris (Patrick Stewart), Luke Rollason (Quentin Tarantino), Nikola McMurtrie (Raygun), Hudson Hughes (Wes Streeting), Ben Goldsmith (Teddy Sherringham), Aidan Pittman (Jamie Oliver), William Stone (Oliver Reed) and Rosalie Minnitt (Nancy Reagan()
Unable to attend the awards ceremony in person, Alborough sent along fellow stars William Stone (as Oliver Reed) and Aidan Pittman (Jamie Oliver) in character to accept on his behalf.
The Brighton Fringe also offers an Audience Choice award for Best Comedy, which was won by Fringe stalwart show Police Cops.
There were 386 comedy shows participating in the Brighton Fringe this year, with 154 theatre shows. The Brighton Fringe offers only these two awards for comedy.
