Britain's Got Talent Stand-up And Baptist Minister Allan Finnegan Dies, Aged 59

Comedian Allan Finnegan, who was also a baptist minister and had appeared on Britain's Got Talent has died. He was 59.

Finnegan made it to the semi-finals of the ITV show in 2020. In 2024 he revealed that he had cancer and had been diagnosed with ocular melanoma. He was treated successfully but unfortunately it metastasised into his liver and was incurable.

Finnegan made a splash on the programme, coming on backed by organ music.

Onstage he joked about his love life becoming like his bank card after thirty years of marriage: "Constantly getting declined."

A gofundme campaign had raised money for special treatment to extend his life. His family issued a statement announcing his death: "We would like to thank each and everyone of you for your support, love and amazing generosity during Allan’s battle. We are eternally grateful to you all, as this gave Allan precious extra time to spend with his family and new grandson."
