Tom Walker (aka Jonathan Pie) and Geoff Norcott (the ‘Token Tory’) have teamed up for a five-week run of a new topical comedy show on YouTube called Well That Went Well. The two will be talking politics, showbiz and ‘any disasters in their personal lives’.
They describe themselves as having been ‘languishing in commissioning no man’s land’ so they ‘decided to get off their fat middle aged arses and do something about it’. The premise of the show is that the previous seven days have been yet another unmitigated disaster and they’ll ‘set aside political and cultural differences’ to pull apart the big news ‘free from lawyers, edit or an overly giddy studio audience’.
In the first episode they ask ‘What the f**k is Manchesterism?’ and also find themselves wishing that Woody had died at the end of Toy Story 3.
As well as featuring the big political and showbiz stories of the week, the show also includes a ‘Half-arsed monologue’ where Norcott delivers hastily written topical gags for Walker to give feedback on.
The show goes out every Friday at 10pm until the 31st July.
Jonathan Pie is touring this autumn, tickets here.
Geoff Norcott takes his Basic Bloke 2 show to the Edinburgh Fringe for one week. Dates and tickets here.
