Multi-award-winning comedy Plebs will be repeated on ITV1 this summer after the show broke records on ITV2 becoming the channel’s all-time highest-rating scripted comedy and also the highest-rated British comedy on a digital channel.. The first episode will air on Monday 29th June at 10.40pm and the 14 episodes will run across 10 weeks on ITV1.

Plebs charts the antics of three under-achievers, Marcus, Stylax and their slave Grumio, all of whom are desperate to live the “when in Rome” maxim to the full. The show witnesses their struggles to cope with life's eternal challenges, as well as typically Roman ones such as chariot lessons, toga fashion and, of course, orgy etiquette.

The series won Best New Comedy at the British Comedy Awards and Best Scripted Comedy at the Royal Television Society Awards, as well as being nominated for two BAFTAs.

The cast includes Joel Fry (Game of Thrones, White Van Man), Tom Rosenthal (Friday Night Dinner), Ryan Sampson (Up The Women), Sophie Colquhoun (Captain America: The First Avenger, The Inbetweeners Movie), Lydia Rose Bewley (Drifters, The Inbetweeners Movies), Doon Mackichan (Smack the Pony, Psychobitches, Toast of London) and Karl Theobald (Green Wing, Twenty Twelve). It has also attracted cameos from the likes of Danny Dyer, Shaun Williamson, Jim Rosenthal and Simon Callow.

ITV's Director of Television, Peter Fincham said: "We are thrilled with the response to the first two series of Plebs, it really is a wonderful thing - and we're really proud to have this comedy as part of our ITV family."

Plebs is produced by Rise Films for ITV2. It is written by Sam Leifer and Tom Basden. The Producer is Teddy Leifer and Caroline Leddy is Executive Producer.
