Performers are always asking me how to get coverage in the media. The trouble is that I’m in the media and I’m not sure if I know the answer myself. There certainly isn’t a formula. I usually say “work hard” but a more honest answer might be “by accident”. Juliette Burton has been around for a while but hadn’t made much of an impact until earlier this year when she tweeted an angry response to the Beach Body Ready ads on the London Underground. Burton has had issues about body image in the past and reacted strongly to the suggestion in the ads that you had to be thin to be ready for the beach. The controversy caused a twitter storm and went viral and, fortunately for Burton, it was all still in time for her to tweak the return of her 2014 Edinburgh show. It was already called Look At Me and was about how we see ourselves, so maybe not too much tweaking was required. Go and see Burton and find out. She is frank, funny and off-the-wall and now topical too.
