Tour For The Horne Section

Tour For The Horne Section

Following two sold-out years on tour, the six-headed comedy band The Horne Section are set to hit the road once more with a brand-new show ‘Six Absolute Helmets’. Fronted by Alex Horne (creator and star of BAFTA and Rose D’Or winning Taskmaster) and his actually talented band, they will tour the UK and Ireland from 9th Feb 2027. Tickets go on pre-sale exclusively to mailing list subscribers on Thursday 22nd October, and on general sale on Friday 23rd October. You can sign up to the mailing list here.

Five outstanding musicians. One non-musical comedian. Very little professionalism. Expect all-new songs, new jokes, questionable choreography, and an unnecessary amount of mucking about from the hugely talented band and Alex Horne. They are one of the most gloriously ridiculous live acts around.

Unruly and surprisingly satisfying, their previous tour show The Horne Section’s Hit Show enjoyed a huge 60+date tour across the UK and Ireland, was extended to meet overwhelming demand for tickets, and saw them perform at London’s Palladium Theatre, Salford’s Lowry, Birmingham’s Symphony Hall and Dublin’s Vicar Street among many other venues. The show went on to be filmed for a comedy special at The Royal Shakespeare Society in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Earlier this year, the band made headlines with a stunt in aid of Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer where they performed the song "How Long" by Ace continuously on a loop for 24 hours. They were joined by special celebrity guests including Kojey Radical, Beverly Knight, Gareth Malone, Jamelia, Ricky Wilson, Dara O Briain, Al Murray, Phil Ellis, Flo & Joan and Mr. Blobby among many others. The 24-hour endurance challenge helped to raise £14,212,660 for Stand Up To Cancer.

They starred in two series of their critically-acclaimed sitcom The Horne Section TV Show on Channel 4 which was described as “riotously fun… [and] an utter delight” (The Guardian ★★★★), and “a first-class comedy” (The Sunday Times Online), while their previous TV credits include countless appearances on Channel 4’s The Last Leg. They have featured in Dictionary Corner on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4), The Royal Variety Performance (ITV), as well as the 2 hour special The Horne Section Television Programme on UKTV’s Dave filmed at the London Palladium, while the band have hosted three series of Alex Horne Presents The Horne Section on BBC Radio 4, and last year saw the band make their debut appearance at Glastonbury performing on the majestic Field of Avalon stage.

The band’s iTunes chart topping podcast The Horne Section Podcast is Shortlists’ Best Comedy Podcast and is currently enjoying a sell-out run of shows at London’s Leicester Square Theatre, while the band collaborated with Romesh Ranganathan’s Hip Hop Saved My Life podcast in an exclusive podcast mashup with Acast and Comic Relief. Separately, members of The Horne Section have performed with recording artists including: Oasis, Robbie Williams, Madness, Florence and the Machine, Amy Winehouse, George Ezra, Basement Jaxx, Disclosure and Noel Gallagher’s High-Flying Birds.

The Horne Section are: Alex Horne (talking and "singing"), Joe Auckland (trumpet and banjo), Mark Brown (saxophone and guitar), Will Collier (bass), Ben Reynolds (drums and percussion) and Ed Sheldrake (keyboards).
