Comedian Eshaan Akbar has been crowned Piccadilly Comedy Club New Comedian of the Year 2016. He was chosen by both judges and audience as winner from a field of seven, which was selected by Mike Manera who runs the Piccadilly Comedy Club.

Second place went to Darren Harriott and third place went to Gabriel Ebulue. 

Akbar who has only been doing stand-up for less than two years wins £200.
