Harry Hill is to reform his legendary pub band for a one-off show as a tribute to member Matt Bradstock-Smith, who has died.
The band featured in in Hill's 1994 Edinburgh show, Pub International, which won a Perrier nomination and spawned Al Murray's Pub Landlord. They used to do mash-ups of pop songs and oldies, for example mixing a Madonna hit with the Dad's Army Theme, with Hill singing. Murray, who played drums in the show, created the character of the Landlord on the spur of the moment. Bradstock-Smith, who, like Hill, was a qualified doctor, played keyboards. He also appeared as Harry's son Little Alan in Hill's 1990s C4 TV show. Little Alan could only communicate by tapping.
Also appearing on the night will be Stewart Lee, Tim Vine, Page Three Stunner Gayle Tuesday & Stouffer The Cat. The show will raise money for St Wilfrid’s Hospice in Chichester in memory of Matt Bradstock-Smith. St Wilfrid's depends on voluntary donations.
The show will be at the Lyric Theatre on May 16 and tickets will go on sale this Friday at 9am. Full details below:
