After heats across the country and seven rounds at the Gilded Balloon, the finalists for So You Think You’re Funny? 2016 have been announced.

Previous winners include Aisling Bea, Miles Jupp, David O’Doherty, Peter Kay, Tommy Tiernan and Dylan Moran.

This year's final will take place at the Gilded Balloon at 7:30pm on August 25. Tickets here. The winner will win £2500, the opportunity to perform at Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival and Norway’s Bergen Humor Fest, as well as a place in Gilded Balloon’s 2017 Fringe programme. The first runner-up wins £1500. The second runner-up wins £1000.

The judges will include Artistic Directors of the Gilded Balloon, Karen & Katy Koren, Director of Melbourne International Comedy Festival Susan Provan, Senior Producer at Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival Zoe Rabnett, Evening Standard/Beyond The Joke critic Bruce Dessau, Sunday Times Culture editor Helen Hawkins and special guest judge and star of TV’s QI and Jonathan Creek, Alan Davies.
