David Walliams has commented on the current controversy over the act on this week's Britain's Got Talent who has been accused by a number of comedians of copying circuit act Raymond And Mr Timpkins.

Writing on Twitter Walliams said: "If you saw @BGT last night & liked the musical comedy act with the sign reading 'ME' see @raymondtimpkins live who did it first & funnier."

Walliams was referring to Adam Keeler, whose act involved holding up letters that reflected the lyrics of pop songs that were playing. The Britain's Got Talent judge also posted a link to a clip of Raymond And Mr Timpkins so that viewers could make up their own minds. Watch the clip below.

Keeler has denied copying the duo. “I was inspired by comedian Tim Vine, who also uses props in his comedy,” he said.

Walliams was applauded for his actions on social media, although some did note that on the night he still voted to put Adam Keeler through to the next round.
