Hit satirical podcast The Bugle is to be recorded in front of a UK audience for the first time.
Host Andy Zaltzman will front the shows joined by special guests at London’s Soho Theatre on May 30 and at the Underbelly Festival on July 13. This follows a debut live episode recorded in New Zealand.
The Underbelly festival will also include a performance of Zaltzman's interactive stand-up show Satirist For Hire on June 20. He will also do his show Poitical Animal at Soho Theatre on May 25, 29 & June 3, with guest comics serving up news-based material.
From its inception in 2007 until 2016, Zaltzman wrote and presented The Bugle with his long-term collaborator John Oliver. He relaunched the podcast in October as part of the Radiotopia network, joined by a revolving group of regular co-hosts including Nish Kumar and Helen Zaltzman (relation). During its decade long run The Bugle has achieved a huge global fanbase, regularly appearing in the iTunes Chart Top Ten and totalling over 70 million downloads across more than 300 episodes, averaging around 250,000 listeners per episode.
