The finalists for this year's 30th anniversary So You Think You're Funny Grand Final have been revealed.
Judging the Grand Final, which will be compered by Aisling Bea, will be the Artistic Directors of the Gilded Balloon, Karen & Katy Koren, Director of Melbourne International Comedy Festival Susan Provan, Senior Producer at Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival Zoe Rabnett, Editor of Beyond the Joke Bruce Dessau, Sunday Times critic Stephen Armstrong and special guest judge, Fringe favourite and former SYTYF winner, David O’Doherty.
Previous winners include Ivo Graham, Tom Allen, Miles Jupp, Rob Rouse, Peter Kay, Dylan Moran and Rhona Cameron. Incumbent winner Heidi Regan has recently been awarded the BBC New Comedy Award 2017.
The winner of the 30th So You Think You’re Funny? competition will win a cash prize of up to £2500, a trip to perform at Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival 2018, a trip to perform at Bergen’s Humour Fest 2018, a run as part of Gilded Balloon’s 2018 Fringe programme, a complimentary professional headshot photoshoot by Steve Ullathorne, complimentary filmed copy and professional photographs of the winner’s spot from the Grand Final to use in their show reel alongside mentorship and support from Karen Koren and the So You Think You’re Funny? team.
This year's finalists are Amira Saied, Archie Henderson, Eric Rushton, Esther Manito, Jamie D’Souza, Kirsten Brown, Maisie Adam, Morgan Rees, Robin Allender and Sarah Mann
