Three major London shows have been announced featuring lastminute.com Edinburgh Comedy Award winners and nominees. The shows will take place at the Duchess Theatre in London on October 16, 23 & 30.
On 16th October, one of Ireland’s most successful up and coming comedians Al Porter (2016 Best Comedy Show nominee) joins sharp political comedian Ahir Shah (2017 Best Comedy Show nominee)and Sophie Willan, whose show on identity (both personal and political) saw her nominated for Best Comedy Show this year. Headlining is Nish Kumar, host of The Mash Report on BBC Two and nominee for Best Comedy Show in 2016 and 2015. The evening is compered by Edinburgh comedian (and the voice of ITV2’s Love Island) Iain Stirling.
The 23rd October show features 2017 breakout star Darren Harriott (2017 Best Newcomer nominee), frenetically funny Adam Hess (2015 Best Newcomer nominee) and Showstopper! The Improvised Musical star Pippa Evans (2008 Best Newcomer nominee). Headlining is John Robins, who this year shared the Best Comedy Show Award with Hannah Gadsby. The evening is compered by quick-witted MC Danny McLoughlin.
On the 30th October charismatic raconteur Jayde Adams (2016 Best Newcomer nominee) and confessional comedian Larry Dean (2015 Best Newcomer nominee) share the bill with surrealist stand up John Kearns - the only comedian to win both Best Newcomer (2013) and Best Comedy Show (2014) - and celebrated comedian, writer, actor and headliner of the evening Sara Pascoe (2014 Best Comedy Show nominee). The evening is compered by the super-smart and original Kiri Pritchard-McLean; one-fourth of deliciously dark sketch troupe Gein’s Family Gift Shop (2014 Best Newcomer nominees).
