News: London/Leeds Shows For Whoopi Goldberg

Grammy, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Whoopi Goldberg is to perform two shows in the UK. Whoopi will perform an evening of unique observations on current events and a wide variety of topics that are on her mind, followed by a question and answer session with the audience.

These dates are at Leeds First Direct Arena on Saturday 13th October  and London Eventim Apollo on Sunday 14th October 2018. Tickets go on sale on Friday 4th May at 9am here.

In 2002, Whoopi Goldberg became one of a very elite group of artists who have won the Grammy (“Whoopi Goldberg,” 1985), the Academy Award (“Ghost,” 1991), the Golden Globe (“The Color Purple,” 1985 and “Ghost,” 1991), the Emmy (as host of AMC’s “Beyond Tara: The Extraordinary Life of Hattie McDaniel,” 2002 and a Daytime Emmy for “The View” in 2009) and a Tony (Producer of “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” 2002). Among her many charitable activities, Whoopi is a Goodwill Ambassador to the United Nations.

Goldberg made her movie debut in Steven Spielberg’s film version of Alice Walker’s “The Color Purple,” for which she earned an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe Award.  Her performance in “Ghost” earned her the Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and she has starred in such films as “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” “Clara’s Heart,” “The Long Walk Home,” “Soapdish,” “Sister Act,” “Made in America,” “Boys on the Side,” “Ghosts of Mississippi,” “How Stella Got Her Groove Back,” “Girl, Interrupted,” and such animated classics as “The Lion King,” and “Toy Story 3.”  She appeared in the 2015 feature film adaption of Adriana Trigiani’s beloved novel, “Big Stone Gap,” opposite Ashley Judd, Patrick Wilson and Jenna Elfman and was seen recently in “Furlough.”

Her television credits range from series, mini-series and talk shows to movies and specials. She recently guest-starred on “Blue Bloods” and co-stars on the CBS drama, “Instinct” opposite Alan Cumming.  She currently moderates ABC’s Emmy Award-winning “The View,” for which she has won a Daytime Emmy Award.
